Levels of Care

Levels of detox care

There is no cure for addiction or a one-size-fits-all method to addiction treatment. What helps you start the path to lifelong recovery will depend on your unique lifestyle and relationship with addiction.

At the Vance Johnson Recovery Center (VJRC) in Las Vegas, Nevada, you will move through our continuum of care as you progress through addiction recovery treatment. Our levels of care are designed to meet you at your point of need and give you all the support you need to enter and stay in recovery.

These are the founding principles of our continuum of care, which lets us give you the best care possible at every stage of recovery.

We begin with detox, where residents are medically supervised for 3-7 days (depending on the substance). By helping our patients detox from drugs or alcohol, we are able to treat their withdrawal symptoms to keep them comfortable and safe during this crucial period.

From there, patients usually transition to our inpatient rehab or residential program, usually for 28-45 days. Here, you will receive 24/7 care to give you the coping skills you need to stay in recovery even after leaving our inpatient rehab center. This also gives you time to adjust to a sober lifestyle and learn how to stay sober in the long term.

In the final stages of treatment, you have a few options. You could begin to transition back into your regular lifestyle or you could go into transitional housing to ensure that you are equipped to stay sober on your own. While we do not offer these programs, we work with local community partners to provide an easy transition, and our care staff will happily discuss these programs and how to start them during your discharge process.

Take a look at our addiction treatment options in more detail below.

Detox

Helping You Through the Stages of Detox

Understandably, dealing with withdrawals can be one of the hardest parts of addiction recovery. However, with our medically supervised detox program, we ensure that you’re comfortable and safe through all stages of detox. Our program lasts for 3-7 days (depending on the substance), and includes the following treatment modalities:

  • Medical evaluation
  • Daily visits from our highly trained physicians
  • 24-hour skilled nursing supervision
  • Medication management to address your individual withdrawal symptoms
  • Discharge planning begins from your day of admissions. We will discuss your long term goals, your current lifestyle, and continuing care after detox.
  • Coordination of care with other clinicians, including mental health professionals.
  • All of our therapeutic services are provided by licensed or certified professionals, in accordance with Florida state laws.

Helping You Through the Stages of Detox

Just like every relationship with addiction is unique, our detox program will be tailored to your needs. After being admitted into this recovery program, you will meet with our licensed medical staff to discuss how we can best help you through detox. This process will include:

  • Physical and mental health evaluation
  • Discussion of what medications and treatments will best ease you through the detox process
  • Discussion of further treatment, including residential rehab

After completing your detox at the Vance Johnson Recovery Center, our continuum of care steps down from detox to residential rehab.

Residential Rehab

After detox, you will need additional support to get you started on the path to long-term recovery. For 28-45 days, our residential rehab program will provide you with comprehensive therapies and programming, including:

  • 24/7 care staff and treatment
  • Medical and psychological evaluation
  • Individualized treatment program based on your needs
  • Recreational therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Communication development classes
  • Spiritual development classes
  • 12-step programs (similar to AA or NA)
  • Nutrition education

While staying in our inpatient rehab center, we will help you address the underlying causes of addiction. Not only will this relapse prevention strategy improve your mental health, but the coping skills you develop along the way will help you stay in recovery long after being discharged.

What to Expect in Residential Rehab

We know that an inpatient rehab center is not always where you want to be. That is why we take every opportunity to create a recovery environment that is warm, welcoming, and feels like home.

You will live with other patients who are recovering from addiction. In this supportive environment, you will be encouraged to embrace your new, sober way of living.

While every rehabilitation program is catered to the individual, the general process can be found below:

  • Evaluation: Here, our staff will discuss your personal history, goals for the future, and your overall state of mind to create an individualized treatment program. This takes place during the first days of your stay in our inpatient rehab center. During this phase, we also begin discussing what recovery options you will pursue after inpatient rehabilitation.
  • Rehabilitation: You will spend the bulk of your time at our residential rehab center in the rehabilitation phase. In this stage, your days will be highly structured around recovery-based activities. From morning until bedtime, your day will be organized around therapies and other treatments, rest periods, and mealtimes.
  • Discharge: During your final days of inpatient treatment, our staff will work with you to determine how you approach your continuing recovery treatment. We will work with you throughout rehabilitation to find the perfect plan for you, whether that be our partial hospitalization program or an outpatient program with our community partners.
