According to SAMHSA, out of the millions of people in the United States who struggle with addiction each year, only about 10% will receive treatment in drug rehab.

This leads countless people in Las Vegas alone to ask themselves every day, “How can I find a drug rehab near me?” If this sounds familiar to you, then now is the time to start looking for ways to enter recovery from substance abuse. Bouncing back and forth between sobriety and drug or alcohol abuse can be very hard on your body, and it can be very hard on your mental health.

If you’re suffering from substance abuse or an addiction to alcohol, trying to get sober on your own can be challenging and uncomfortable. Instead, beginning your search online with search terms like “drug rehab near me” or”‘inpatient drug rehab near me” can help you to find a Las Vegas detox or inpatient rehab program that will assist you in reaching your goals of a sober lifestyle as safely and comfortably as possible.

So, what can a Las Vegas addiction treatment program do for you and your goals to reduce or eliminate substance use? Consider the following:

A Drug Detox Program Can Keep You From Using

When you detox in a rehab facility, you will receive key support during the detoxification process. Staff will monitor your vitals 24 hours a day throughout the drug detox program to keep you safe and comfortable. Although there’s no way to eliminate drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms completely, substance abuse treatment in a recovery center can keep you from drinking or using while you detox.

In addition, when you choose a detox facility or drug rehab in Las Vegas, you are more likely to succeed in the long run. Many people with substance use disorders give up when trying to quit cold turkey because the drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms are so uncomfortable. When you enroll in a detox program or inpatient drug rehab, you will receive the support you need to get through to the other side of your withdrawal symptoms.

Inpatient Drug Rehab Jump-Starts Your Recovery

If you’re trying to quit drinking or using drugs, there’s no better place than drug and alcohol rehab to get you started on your path to recovery. At the Vance Johnson Recovery Center, our inpatient residential drug rehab program will take your entire history into account during the addiction treatment process, including any past trauma that may be fueling your desire to use.

The best inpatient drug rehabs are useful because they make relapse so much harder. You are constantly in a safe, alcohol-and-drug-free environment which could make all the difference in your recovery. By attending a rehab center in Las Vegas, you’re setting yourself up for a successful outcome.

12-Step Programs Offer Great Education

In the Las Vegas recovery community, 12-step meetings are great places to learn about different addiction recovery stories from the people who live them. While everyone’s story is different, addiction certainly has common threads. Recognizing these similarities will help you recognize and avoid your own relapses in the future.

That’s why at the Vance Johnson Recovery Center, we facilitate 12-step recovery groups. By coming together with your peers, you will see that you truly are not alone in your addiction experience. And the beauty of working the steps is that they do not stop once you graduate from an addiction treatment center. There are plenty of 12-step programs in Las Vegas, and getting started with these programs in a treatment center is a great step toward long-term recovery.

If you’re new to the 12 steps, get started with this look at the first step of recovery.

In addition to the 12 step meetings, Vance Johnson Recovery Center alumni have access to drug rehab alumni resources for life after rehab, as well as the opportunity to join a vibrant VJRC alumni community.

Substance Abuse Treatment Gives You Consistency

When people attend a treatment facility for the first time, they’re often surprised by how much they enjoy following a regular schedule. People suffering from substance abuse often feel disorganized or overwhelmed by their daily lives. By fitting recovery-focused activities into a regular, manageable schedule, you will gain a perspective that’s hard to imagine when you’re actively drinking or using drugs.

For example, program alumni often explain how much they enjoy the new feeling of productivity that a regular schedule offers. Knowing when you’ll attend group therapy or when you’ll have your recreational time provides consistency to the day and offers a taste of the joys that sober life can offer.

Inpatient or residential rehab includes 24-hour care at a drug rehabilitation center that a person will live in for a certain amount of time.

At the Vance Johnson Recovery Center, each patient is given a schedule that combines individual and group therapies, addiction education, relapse prevention training, recreational activities, meals, and time for personal reflection.

If a person is enrolled in an outpatient drug rehab program, he or she will attend a certain amount of therapeutic hours per week at the drug rehab facility but will sleep at home.

Detox the process where a person stops using drugs or alcohol and allows the body to rid itself of the toxins associated with substance use. Depending on the severity of substance use this process can be mild or pretty uncomfortable. Detoxing at an accredited Las Vegas rehabilitation center or detox facility will ensure that detox happens safely and as comfortably as possible.

Detox is generally the beginning of a drug rehab program. Once the physical dependency on a substance is broken, the causes of addiction and methods of recovery can be assessed.

A minimum of 90 days is recommended to effectively treat addiction. This time could be entirely in an inpatient or residential setting, or in a combination of inpatient drug rehab and outpatient treatment.

Detoxing from drug use depends largely on the frequency and duration of use as well as the type of substance(s), the amount taken, and personal characteristics (user’s age, gender, medical conditions, etc.). This process could take anywhere from days to months to fully complete.

Detox programs at detox facilities or drug rehab centers usually take place over three, five, or seven days. This gives the patient enough time to get through any uncomfortable or dangerous drug withdrawal symptoms in a supervised environment before addressing the patterns associated with drug use.

Verifying an addiction facility’s accreditation, licensure, and staff qualifications are great places to start when researching drug rehab centers. In addition, the best drug rehab centers employ evidence-based practices in a therapeutic atmosphere (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy, medication-assisted therapies, etc.) and offer resources for life after rehab.
